Fish Trap Lake is a picturesque lake with many beautiful islands, points, and bays. It is perfect for taking a pontoon ride and taking in the views or going out fishing. Bald eagles, blue herons, and loons have made this lake their home. Also, home to walleye, northern pike, crappie, and other panfish, you will have plenty to catch. Fish Trap Lake has over 1300 acres of recreational space with 13.7 miles of shoreline. At Campfire Bay we offer a safe and sandy beach for you to enjoy this amazing lake. With a water bouncer, inflated log roll, and water slide there will be plenty of splashing to take part in. You can also explore the lake on one of our hydro-bikes, kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddleboards and all are free to guests. The best part about Campfire Bay Resort is the lake we sit on. Perfect for every age to get out and take part in the many water activities.
Want to feel the wind in your hair and catch some air? Get out on a boat and go tubing or waterskiing. A perfect Minnesota summer activity is to get out on the water, whether that is fishing or watersports. If you want to get out on the lake but don’t have your own boat, no worries! We offer a small but growing fleet of boats and pontoons available to rent. Whether you need it for the whole week or just 3-hours, we will get you set up to explore the waters. All boats except the ski boat come with a free full tank of gas. The ski boat comes with the first five gallons provided.
Fish Trap Lake is known for its great fishing. Walleyes are stocked yearly, averaging five to six pounds. Bass average at four pounds with some six plus pounders caught each year. The Crappie population is very healthy on Fish Trap as well, with frequent catches of 1.5 to 2-pound fish found in a net with a full limit. Northern Pike is easily found by trolling or by casting with spoons, and their overall size has raised over the past few years. Fish Trap Lake offers a variety of abundant species for you to find the perfect catch.
